Welcome to the 2008
RetroChallenge Winter Warm-up!

Obsolete? Never!

RetroChallenge is still officially half a year off, but some of us poor geeks just can't wait that long to get started...

The Winter Warm-up is a excuse for retro-geeks to strut their stuff during the post-Xmas doldrums. Like the RetroChallenge proper, the Winter Warm-up is a chance for folks to do something cool with their "obsolete" computers, and then tell the world all about it. There are no actual rules to speak of, nor will there be any long drawn-out discussion as to what qualifies as "retro" -- we'll leave that up to the individual entrant.

Challenges can vary widely from person to person... You may want to try your hand at programming, or perhaps use your retro gear to create graphics or music. Maybe you're more inclined toward hardware hacking, or quite possibly just installing a working OS on that old machine is challenging enough. Whatever you're into, and whatever your level of experience, the most important aspect of the challenge is just doing it.

Challengers are encouraged to keep a web page or blog describing their progress and to join in the discussions at the RetroBBS (telnet to lorance.no-ip.org) and the RetroChallenge Forum at the 68KMLA.

The challenge will run from January 1st to 31st, 2008... you can sign-up here.

For those unfamiliar with the RetroChallenge, previous incarnations can be found here:
